What is Invisalign?
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-moulded to fit your teeth. The virtually invisible aligners gradually reposition your teeth into the desired position.
There are no metal wires or bands to irritate your mouth and best of all, most people won’t notice you’re in treatment. The aligners are changed every few weeks moving your teeth little by little, they are taken out to eat, drink anything other than water, brush and floss or if attending a special event.
Invisalign is perfect for those who want a more discreet brace and that have smaller irregularities to be corrected.
Is Invisalign suitable for teenagers?
Invisalign is suitable for both teenagers and adults. The aligners are designed to straighten their teeth without disrupting their active lifestyle such as playing sports, musical instruments or just day-to-day life at school.
The main issue with teenagers who have Invisalign treatment is compliance. For the aligners to work as efficiently and effective as possibly, they have to been worn for at least 22 hours a day to ensure maximum effectiveness.
